Researcher at technical physics department of Milan’s Politecnic in 68 and 69.
From 69 to 71, lead business development unit of Italian company operating in air conditioning sector. Launched new product line in automotive air conditioning that eventually became the fastest growing business.
In 1972 joins McKinsey & Co. Becomes a Principal in 79 and a Director in 84.
- Joins initially the Paris Office, then spends almost three years in the Tokyo and Mexico office before joining the Italian Office . For years member of many Client Service teams serving Global clients in several European countries. Currently a member of the leadership Group overseeing the Mediterranean Practice.
- From 1999 senior sponsor of the TelAviv office, where he has lead the creation of a professional local team and several high impact consulting initiatives such as the turnaround of ElAl, an M&A- based growth strategy for Nilit and the Negev development project
- Has advised the Top management of over 100 global private and listed corporations on themes such as Corporate transformation, performance improvement, growth/M&A-Alliances, technology management and organizational improvement. Substantial experience in several industrial and service sectors such as energy, telecom, retailing, process industries, chemical –pharma, automotive/ assembly, consumer goods, textile/fashion and transportation/airlines.
- In the mid 80's and early 90's, has been a member of the leadership team of the specialty chemicals/pharma practice of McKinsey, where he lead some significant client and professional development initiatives. For example lead the CST that advised a European RX Pharma Co in developing therapeutic area strategies(e.g. oncology), performance improvement programs (e.g. leaner development process) and Post merger management (PMM). Has also been a member of a McKinsey Client service team involved in a global PMM process for another European/Global leading pharma Co.
- Leader/coleader or member of the leadership teams of several knowledge Practices of McKinsey such as Corporate Governance, Organization and Leadership, Alliances and M&A, Family Business Governance and Private Equity. Authored numerous articles and papers and participated as keynote speaker at several seminars on these subjects.
- For more than 10 years members of McKinsey's Investment Office (Invests more than 3 bio $ of Firm members pension funds and personal savings in alternative assets such as hedge funds and Private Equity).
- Advisor to Markstone Israel's leading buyout fund and Wanaka (first Israeli mid tech venture capital fund). Business angel in several Israeli high tech startups.
- Currently a member of the Board of Teva and advisor to Netafim in Israel.
- In Italy, a member of the Board of Luxottica (most admired Italian Co. - listed in NYSE), Marazzi (global leader in ceramic tiles), BNP- BNL (leading French -Italian Bank).
- Member of the European advisory Group of Ben Gurion University and of the Board of CEDC, a high prestige Italian center focusing on research on the Holocaust.
- Advisor of the Italian Governement on matter of economic policy development, member of the Board of IIT – Italian Institute of technology, a recently created research Institute with two Nobel laureates in its scientific advisory Board.
